Short answer: Choose ZEISS if you want ZEISS glass and dealer support, and you are happy to get a quote. Choose HeliosX if you want a published price, a custom-fit pair built to your own working distance, or ergonomic prismatic optics: Galileo starts at $795, Kepler at $1,195 and Apollo at $1,695.
ZEISS makes the EyeMag range: EyeMag Smart and Classic with Galilean optics, and EyeMag Pro with Keplerian (prismatic) optics, on a titanium spectacle frame or a headband. It is sold through dealers, and US prices are not published. HeliosX builds Galilean, prismatic and ergonomic prismatic loupes to your measurements and lists every price on the site.
We make and sell HeliosX loupes. This is our buying guidance, not an independent product test or paid ranking.

ZEISS splits its loupes by optical system. EyeMag Smart and EyeMag Classic use Galilean optics, which keep the pair light and the field wide at lower magnification. EyeMag Pro uses Keplerian optics for higher magnification, and comes as Pro F on a titanium spectacle frame or Pro S on a headband.

EyeMag Pro comes in fixed working distances from 300 to 500 mm. If your real distance falls between steps, or is longer because you are tall, you lean to stay in focus. HeliosX builds each pair to the distance you measure, and Medusa adjusts from 300 to 600 mm if you switch between seated and standing work.
ZEISS does not list US prices; you buy through a dealer. As a reference point, the ZEISS India med-shop lists EyeMag Pro F 3.2x at 500 mm at ₹1,97,000 and EyeMag Pro S 4.0x at 500 mm at ₹2,34,000. Ask your dealer for a written quote at the same magnification, then compare it with a complete HeliosX order.
ZEISS does not publish US prices; dealers quote them. The ZEISS India store lists EyeMag Pro F 3.2x at ₹1,97,000 and Pro S 4.0x at ₹2,34,000, which gives a sense of where the Keplerian range sits.
Both. EyeMag Smart and Classic are Galilean. EyeMag Pro is Keplerian, which is a prismatic design.
ZEISS sells the EyeMag Light II LED system for its loupes, separately or in a bundle. HeliosX loupes are compatible with LED headlights and battery packs.
For Keplerian-style magnification, HeliosX Kepler ($1,195–$1,255). For a more upright posture, Apollo or Medusa. For a light, wide-field Galilean pair, Galileo from $795.
